Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Klozu may collect information when users choose to provide it or use app features.

• Account information, such as email address, user ID, username, profile details, and authentication information.
• Profile content, such as profile photo, bio, style tags, color preferences, fit preferences, and other style preferences.
• Wardrobe content, such as clothing photos, clothing image URLs, item names, item categories, colors, seasons, patterns, style tags, saved outfits, favorite outfits, and closet organization data.
• User-generated styling inputs, such as selected vibe, occasion, context, temperature, season, shopping verdict requests, and style prompts.
• Optional onboarding style analysis inputs, including outfit photos intentionally uploaded by the user during onboarding.
• Location information, if the user grants permission, for weather-aware outfit recommendations.
• Purchase and subscription information processed through Apple and RevenueCat.
• Technical, crash, and diagnostic information needed to operate and secure the app.

Klozu does not collect passwords directly. Authentication is handled through our authentication provider.

2. How We Collect Information

• Create an account or edit a profile.
• Upload clothing photos or a profile photo.
• Add, edit, save, or delete wardrobe items.
• Generate outfits or request styling recommendations.
• Use AI-powered features such as clothing tagging, outfit generation, shopping verdicts, style recommendations, styling explanations, or optional onboarding style analysis.
• Grant location permission for weather-aware outfit suggestions.
• Purchase subscriptions or add-ons.
• Contact support.

3. How We Use Information

• Provide and maintain user accounts.
• Store and display wardrobe items, saved outfits, profile information, and user preferences.
• Generate outfit recommendations and style suggestions.
• Provide clothing tagging, shopping verdicts, style recommendations, styling explanations, and optional onboarding style analysis.
• Personalize recommendations based on style preferences and closet content.
• Improve app reliability, security, and performance.
• Process subscriptions and purchases.
• Respond to user support requests.
• Prevent abuse, fraud, unsafe use, or policy violations.

4. AI Data Sharing

Klozu uses AI only for clothing tagging, outfit generation, shopping verdicts, style recommendations, styling explanations, and optional onboarding style analysis.

AI features require in-app permission before data is sent to Klozu’s secure backend or AI processing providers. Before Klozu sends personal data to AI processing providers, users are shown an in-app disclosure and asked for permission.

AI features are optional. Users can decline AI consent and still use basic closet features manually. Users can later revoke AI consent in Settings > Privacy & Security > AI Data Sharing.

Depending on the feature, Klozu may send the following information to Klozu’s secure backend and AI processing providers.

• Clothing photos or clothing image URLs.
• Wardrobe item details, such as item name, type, category, color, season, pattern, style tags, and image URL.
• User-selected styling inputs, such as vibe, occasion, context, season, temperature, and prompts.
• Optional profile style preferences.
• Saved outfit metadata needed to generate or explain recommendations.

AI processing providers, currently including OpenAI and Google Gemini where applicable to the requested feature.

Klozu does not send passwords, payment information, or Apple account credentials to AI providers.

5. Face Data and User Photos

Klozu does not use Apple Face ID, ARKit face tracking, facial recognition, facial verification, face templates, face embeddings, face geometry, facial landmarks, or biometric identifiers.

Klozu does not extract, measure, scan, analyze, or store facial features from uploaded photos.

Users may choose to upload photos that contain a face, such as a profile photo. These photos are used only to provide the feature selected by the user, such as displaying a profile image.

Klozu does not use face-containing photos to identify users, authenticate users, determine identity, infer sensitive traits, match faces, or build biometric profiles.

Klozu does not sell face data, biometric data, wardrobe photos, profile photos, or uploaded images.

6. Third-Party Service Providers

Klozu may use third-party service providers to operate the app.

• Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage.
• Render or similar hosting providers for backend services where applicable.
• AI processing providers, currently including OpenAI and Google Gemini where applicable to the requested feature.
• Apple for in-app purchases and subscription processing.
• RevenueCat for subscription status management and entitlement handling.

Third-party providers process user data only as needed to provide their services to Klozu. Klozu requires third-party providers that receive user data to protect it with the same or equivalent safeguards described in this Privacy Policy.

7. Data Storage and Security

User account data, wardrobe data, profile data, uploaded images, and saved outfit data may be stored using Supabase and related storage infrastructure.

Klozu uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user data. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and Klozu cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Profile photos are retained until the user replaces the photo, deletes the photo where available, or deletes the account.

Uploaded wardrobe photos are retained while the user account is active and the item remains in the user’s closet.

AI request data is not retained by Klozu longer than necessary to provide the requested feature, maintain security, debug failures, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, or operate backups.

• Users may delete wardrobe items, profile photos, saved outfits, and other user-generated content inside the app where available.
• Users may request account deletion or use the in-app Delete Account option.

When an account is deleted, associated user content is deleted or de-identified according to our deletion process, except where temporary retention is required for security, legal compliance, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or backup recovery.

9. Location Information

Location access is optional. If granted, Klozu may use the device’s location to provide weather-aware outfit recommendations. Users can disable location access in iOS Settings.

10. Purchases and Subscription Providers

RevenueCat may process subscription status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, entitlement status, and app user identifiers. Klozu does not receive full payment card details.

11. Analytics and Diagnostics

Klozu may receive crash and performance information through Apple and Expo diagnostics.

12. User Controls and Revoking Consent

Users can control their information through the app and can contact Klozu to request access, correction, deletion, or help with data controls.

• Edit profile information.
• Delete wardrobe items.
• Delete saved outfits.
• Change style preferences.
• Revoke AI Data Sharing consent in Settings > Privacy & Security > AI Data Sharing.
• Delete their account.

If AI Data Sharing consent is revoked, Klozu will stop sending user data to AI processing providers for AI features. Basic closet features remain available.

13. Children’s Privacy

Klozu is not intended for children under 13. Users must not upload images of children or minors for AI processing features.

14. Contact Us and Policy Updates

Klozu may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If material changes are made, we may notify users in the app or by updating the effective date above.
